Driving on a rainy day :)

What an unexpectedly lovely day! Drove around the town running errands that could have been easily avoided. The rain puddles, constant drizzle, misting windows, and outside everything cleaner and greener....All the potholes, craters and ditches were overflowing, it must have rained most of the last night! The perfect kind of weather for long drives and hot samosas! No samosas were possible because of suspected-amebiasis so simply enjoyed the lovely day, drove though the puddles and city-road-craters. Generally I carry a camera wherever I go, today was one day when I really missed it. At one point I parked very close to a rain drenched Ashoka tree, the leaves fell all over the wind screen...and I didn’t have a camera! Then I remembered my cell phone camera, and took this picture...

A camera would have captured the Ashoka leaves brushing against the glass much better, but at least I have this.

After all the unimportant, avoidable errands were taken care for, I drove back home, and it was so disappointing to have to park! The final disappointment came when the car announced it was running on reserve fuel! And then it dawned upon me that, for the first time, I had driven enough to finish all that fuel!!!!Now I can safely say I HEART driving....come rain or high water:)

PS I know it isn’t nice to waste fuel, the thing is I am still learning, and need to practice.

It's Motorola RAZR, but the pictures aren't generally good, many mobiles have 5 megapixel cameras, this one is only 1.2 Mega Pixel.

hey the pics look really good in your moto phone...my bro has the same and they don't come out looking so good..

Enjoy your driving, the thrill of being independent and not depending on anybody just to move around is great nah...enjoy it before the really bad traffic gets you down :)

The last line of your post about 'asting fuel' made me smile :) You are very sweet.
We all do something thats against the environment, I take loooong HOT showers. Can't help it, it truly relaxes me. I have thought of such great ideas, solved problems and algorithms while in the shower :)

hey, this is a perfect "blog." I just realized it is neat and private and regular, like a diary entry...

keep driving, man...my wife has found this new pleasure although she can't see even 3/4th of the jeep's width...

your other posts are very thought provoking and i really hope you write for some serious journal . . . do you write for the EPW by any chance?

No I am afraid I don't write for EPW...just googled to check what it was...what made you ask?

I carry my camera most of the times. When it rains and am on the road walking, i dare not to open it and simply enjoy watching the rain :)

Great to see you are enjoying driving. After some practice it will come to you as smoothly as music. Changing of gears, slowing down, picking up race - it will come to you so naturally that you would glide through traffic jams. In fact, you would enjoy them. (it is my perverse view)Compliments on driving through rain.

manasa Yeah I love watching wild rains and storms too:)

mampi You know when friends tell me I should take a lonelier route because it will be easier, I never take that advise. I make sure I drive everywhere so there is no fear, just lots of practice:)

i think the best part about the cells these days is the camera!! u find something interesting and all u need to do is fish out ur cell phone!no need to lug around a full proper camera!
