Most people seriously believe that crime against women has to do with the way they dress or look. Nobody thinks logically, that crime against women increases with general law and order
situation, not with her wardrobe. I spent the whole of today finding out which products I use have been tested on animals, and my next post is about the results.
And I agree with you, creepy men will pass lewd remarks irrespective of how you dress. Sometimes carelessness, laziness, ignorance or indifference is confused with simplicity. In our house, make up was regarded as a vanity, for girls who only believed in physical beauty, and were not truely interested in a carrier. I accepted it at that time, and did not realise that taking care of oneself, was a confidence booster, and not a distracter. Then in college, I shyed away from it, because, dressing up only invinted unwanted attention, and eve teasing, something I hated, and wished to avoid. I come to realise that not grooming myself had nothing to do with it, because those were men who would remark and pass lewid comments even if a tree was vaguely feminine. Then around that time, as a part of my subject, I came across animal testing. Animals that never saw the day of light, while testing these drugs, on their eyes, and skin. You see India did not have any laws for animal testing on beauty products those days. That's it! What I could have learnt in terms of skill for personal grooming was lost. Now I do know that there are beauty products that do not use animal testing. But now I dont have the skill. I just leave it to home made kajal and the occassional lipstic.Thought Roomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05520315758863576077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123689684509240568.post-11952082159214199652008-05-05T01:11:00.000+05:302008-05-05T01:11:00.000+05:30I grew up on the commandment to moisturize , use s...I grew up on the commandment to moisturize , use sunscreen, always condition my hair, plus semi ablutions with glycerin and lime juice. I think one should make the most of what one has. Learned lipstick applying from my mother- . Now nailpolish on toenails is a must.
I had heard the "be simple" part from my last boyfriend once and had replied with a "then stop looking at how beautiful xyz is"Dr. Ally Critterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04191162451745534259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123689684509240568.post-27283194243243033212008-05-05T00:58:00.000+05:302008-05-05T00:58:00.000+05:30I used to buy cotton sarees and pretty hand bags f...I used to buy cotton sarees and pretty hand bags for my mother, and pestered her endlessly to apply something other than lipstick (she rarely did), finally I did get her a nice hair cut which she still maintains, and agrees that shorter hair is easier to care for. If it's only the fear of looking like a clown then you MUST experiment. These days most malls have testers and they are more than willing to help you try. First find a matching, perfect makeup (foundation/base)-if you can make out something has been done, it's not good enough. It should look natural, like you are having a good-skin-day :) And try at home many times before you go out any where.
For me Maybelline's Wonder Finish Makeup, in Fawn is just right.Indian Home Makerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649133480442907582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123689684509240568.post-86999754668944232452008-05-04T12:39:00.000+05:302008-05-04T12:39:00.000+05:30hi... i agree wearing make up is an art... done in...hi... i agree wearing make up is an art... done incorrectly, it can make you look like a monkey... :P
but honestly, im not the kind who uses too much make up..im neatly dressed and everything but make up is restricted to an eye pencil and a lip gloss... i hvnt even experimented beyond that..may be i shud ....but im too scared of looking like a clown!i btr learn it from someone before i experiment..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
